Foodie

You would have thought I was serving ice cream and brownies for snack. Violet is so into food that she is super happy when I serve almost anything (in this case raisins). She is a great eater with one of her favorite foods being broccoli.

Playdates and Walks

Nikolai resigned to being baby furniture for Helena and Violet.

Violet and her new BFF at the Children's Museum. NB: Owen has a little crush on Violet, and sometimes gives her very eager hugs that make her fall down (: I imagine that she is telling him here to mind her personal space.

Tunneling

Walks in the neighborhood take about five times longer now that Violet insists upon walking most of the way herself. She makes lots of pit stops to pick up bugs, sticks and pull grass.

Happy Momma's Day to Me!

Breakfast in Bed. Does it get any better? Just imagine a scone on the plate (I ate it too quickly to take a picture), a latte is in the cup and chocolates to boot. Baby daddy is on the ball and we had a fantastic first Mother's Day. We went to my favorite flower shop to browse and out for lunch.

On the Cusp of a Midwest Summer

We go outside every chance we get, and while Violet eats dirt, Bob and I prepare our flower beds, plot, scheme and negotiate plant choices and placement. It's the most exciting time of the year in Wisconsin as we sit on the cusp of beauty and warmth, very ready to leave dead and cold winter behind.








We live near an international airport and sometimes find ourselves part of their flight pattern. We don't notice the planes anymore, except when Violet squeals and points up to the sky.
